چکیده

In recent years the joints mechanically bolted and glued has drawn the attention of the scientific community, the growth of its applications in various sectors of engineering. An advantageous feature of mechanical joints is the low sensitivity to surface preparation, service temperature or humidity. In addition to allowing the removal of a greater number of times without damaging the structure. In parallel to the study of the joints mechanically fixed by screws, automotive and aerospace industries boosted the use of adhesives in glue joints in the assembly of structures, due to advantages such as better stress distribution, union capacity in different materials and reducing fatigue when compared to traditional methods of union. The strength of a glued joint are also influenced by various parameters; the thickness of the cord, the preparation of the adhering surface, the geometry of the joint, the type of glue used, the operating temperature and the humidity. The objective of this work is to extend the experimental study to investigate the influence of bolt preload on the failure modes compared to fixed together by pin without torque and compared with the resistance of a glued joint, used in laminated composites cotton reinforced with vegetable fibers. The applied preload moments were taken as 0 and 5 Nm concluded that the tensile failure mode either pure or combined, was present in all configurations of the joints pinned.; the shortcomings of tension occurred in the samples submitted to the torque of 5.0 Nm in every relationship E/d the breaking load distribution in the composite gasket can be adjusted by varying some geometrical parameters of the sample. Keywords— articulate, clearance, failure modes, geometry, maximum capacity, preload, , momentum, , scanning electron microscopy.

All impact analyses performed so far for the composite plates, have treated central impacts. Furthermore, investigations on influences of the in-plane biaxial compression, tension, or tension-compression preloads on various responses of the low-velocity impact, especially the indentation, have not been performed so far. In the present research, a finite element formulation is presented for resp...

Density and Temperature Dependencies of Liquid Surface Tension

In this paper the density and temperature dependencies of surface tension are investigated. Using the Lennard-Jones (12,6), as an effective pair interaction potential, a linear expression is derived for isotherms of g /r2  versus r2 for some normal and ChloroFluoroCarbons (CFCs)</...

Effects of cold-treatment and strain-rate on mechanical properties of NbTi/Cu superconducting composite wires

During design and winding of superconducting magnets at room temperature, a pre-tension under different rate is always applied to improve the mechanical stability of the magnets. However, an inconsistency rises for superconductors usually being sensitive to strain and oversized pre-stress which results in degradation of the superconducting composites' critical performance at low temperature. Th...

Meso-scale Modeling of Tension Analysis of Pure and Intra-ply Hybrid Woven Composites Using Finite Element Method

One of the key issues associated with using of composites in various applications is their tensile behavior. The tensile behavior of a composite material is strongly influenced by the properties of its constituents and their distribution. This paper focuses on gaining some insights into the tensile process of pure and hybrid woven composite reinforced with brittle and ductile yarns. For this pu...
